Learning & Development

At CEDA, we believe in continuous learning and development. We invest in the future of our employees by offering dynamic and interactive training to provide the skills and knowledge needed for success.

We also support career growth by recognizing and promoting employees who are driven to fulfill their highest potential.

CEDA’s comprehensive Corporate Orientation introduces all new employees to our organization, core values and safety culture. In addition to the Corporate Orientation, new field employees will learn about on-the-job safety through CEDA’s Field and Driver’s Orientations and obtain their certificate in WHMIS 2015.

CEDA employees have the opportunity to advance their skillset and knowledge through our classroom training, field mentorship and educational assistance programs, which includes:

Health & Safety

CEDA provides in-house health and safety certifications to educate our employees on how to work safely on the job. Some examples include:

  • Industry Recognized Confined Space Entry Monitor
  • Industry Recognized Fall Protection
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG)
  • Standard First Aid with CPR

CEDA’s equipment training allows employees to experience the technical and practical hands-on components of each major piece of equipment they will be working with. Once in the field, on-the-job mentoring provides employees with the additional knowledge and experience they need to further their career. Some examples include:

  • High Pressure Water Blasting
  • Wet and Dry Vacuum
  • Skid Steer
  • Industry Recognized Elevated Work Platform

With Our People being one of CEDA’s core values, we recognize the importance of providing our employees with the necessary training to enhance their leadership skills. We offer a variety of training courses that are tailored to specific roles and responsibilities within the organization.

CEDA is committed to developing skilled trade and crafts men and women through the apprenticeship continuance program for recognized trade certificates in Canada.

Educational Assistance

CEDA promotes learning through many educational institutions (including numerous colleges and universities). Employees can apply for tuition reimbursement for courses they choose to take to advance their employment with CEDA. We also assist our employees in applying for government funded programs.

CEDA Indigenous Operator Training Program

We provide assistance for our Indigenous employees who are looking to obtain their Class 1 or Class 3 driver’s licence to advance into an Operator position. Once licence requirements are met, we pair the candidate with an experienced Operator to receive three months of on-the-job training with continuous support and resources.
