CEDA works to build strong relationships with Indigenous communities and partners in our operating areas. Our goal is to develop opportunities that are mutually beneficial to both CEDA and Indigenous peoples. We encourage Indigenous inclusion through employment and business opportunities with our company. CEDA also partners with regional and national organizations such as the Northeastern Alberta Aboriginal Business Association and Indigenous Works to foster increased Indigenous inclusion.
Recruitment and Training
Having a successful and diverse workforce is essential to meeting our current and future needs. By creating an inclusive workplace, CEDA aims to promote Indigenous recruitment and advancement throughout all levels in the company. Local recruitment initiatives including job fairs, print and radio ads, and networking events to attract candidates. CEDA also actively promotes our available career opportunities through Aboriginalcareers.ca.
CEDA is creating training programs specifically for our Indigenous employees. Identifying individuals who are looking to advance in the company and helping them achieve their goals.
CEDA captures workplace diversity statistics to help guide our Indigenous recruitment strategy and initiatives and ensure we are continuing to advance our Indigenous inclusion.
To support Indigenous businesses, CEDA uses pre-existing local vendor supply agreements with Indigenous companies in our local operating areas. As a member of Northeastern Alberta Aboriginal Business Association since 2010, we also consider local Indigenous suppliers, which are given preference within our procurement process.
